It’s the perfect time for fall date ideas!

Find some fun, flirty, and downright spooky date ideas to enjoy with your loved one this autumn.

Fall Date Ideas

This October and November, get in on all the fall date night ideas you simply can’t do at other times of the year.

OR, you can’t do it in such a cozy way, anyway.

Now, you two kids have fun!

1. Watch a Local Football Game + Bring Fall Grilled Cheese Sandwiches

Fall is all about football for local schools (and my husband, who adores the sport).

Find a local football team to cheer on, and make one of these fall-inspired grilled cheeses for each of you to take:

2. Pick Out Wacky Gourds Together (with a Prize)

Have you seen some of those wacky gourds out there?

Some of them are so oddly shaped.

Go to a farm, and you each pick out the weirdest, wackiest-looking gourd you can find.

Pick a prize for the winner (apple cider donuts, anyone?).

Bonus points if you name your new little gourd and proudly display him on the mantle for the two of you to giggle at all season!

3. Go on a Local Ghost Tour

Almost every city now seems to have a local ghost tour.

Which is pretty awesome because not only is it a fun thing to do when the nights get dark insanely early…but it’s great exercise and you’ll likely learn some history lessons you didn’t know.

Win-win-win!

4. Create a Couples’ Gratitude Tree Together + Mug Cakes

Get these free printables and fill them out together. You can make it couple-specific (like what you love about each other, or what you’re grateful for in the other person), or make it about life in general.

Be sure to put the finished tree somewhere where you each can see it. It’ll help you to feel thankful all month long.

Make sure to whip up one of these quick fall-flavored mug cakes:

5. Go Ugly Sweater Shopping at a Thrift Store

Your opportunity to wear an ugly holiday-themed sweater is right around the corner…why not make a date night of getting ready by choosing the ugliest Christmas sweater you can find at your local Thrift Store?

6. Go to an Observatory

There are clearer skies in the Fall, and it’s darker earlier in the evening…making it a great time of year to go to an observatory and tour parts of the sky.

Check out the events at your local observatory and make a date night out of it.

7. Crush Grapes Together at a Winery Harvest Festival

Grapes are harvested in the fall, and lots of wineries hold stomping events in October and November for the public to come and crush grapes.

Kick your shoes off, get your (clean) feet out, and make a fun date of stomping grapes together! Afterwards, enjoy the bounty of a previous harvest (you could even bring a picnic and make a picnic date).

8. Share Local Ghost Stories Over Homemade Pudgy Pies

The days get so much shorter in the Fall.

Take advantage of it by getting a local ghost folklore book for your area, and the ingredients you need to make some pudgy pies.

Light up the fire pit outside, read spooky stories to each other, and make a pie or two.

Here are a few recipes to get you started:

You’ll also need a pie iron cooker.

Psst: want a follow-up date? Go VISIT one of the spooky buildings or areas you just read about.

9. Find a Complicated Corn Maze

Lots of corn mazes in the U.S. are made for kids and may contain a few rows to work through.

You want to find an ADULT corn maze – the kind that’s complicated enough, it’ll keep you entertained.

Here are the biggest and best corn mazes in the U.S.

10. Mini-Golf After Dark

Many miniature golf places lure customers into the early darkness by lighting up their courses in special ways (glow-in-the-dark, Halloween-themed, etc.).

Spend a special night together putt-putting your way through a miniature golf course.

Don’t forget the hot chocolates!

11. Play the Fall Emoji Picture Game

Emojis are so much fun, amiright?

Print out this freebie Fall Emoji game – one for each participant – and try to figure out what the heck each line is saying.

12. Check Out a Scary Drive-In Movie

Here’s a fun fall date night: travel to your nearest drive-in movie theater for a night when they’re playing something spooky.

13. Complete Fall Trivia with Mini Thanksgiving Pies By Candlelight

Who says the two of you have to wait until Thanksgiving night to enjoy some pie?

Make a Thanksgiving pie early (or buy one), light candles, and chow down. Add in one of the printable fall trivia games below, and you’ve got yourself a fun, fall date night at home.

Don’t forget the whipped cream!

Psst: pie not your thing? Here are 5 simple no-bake Thanksgiving desserts, and Thanksgiving dessert salads you can eat instead.

14. Do a Kindness Challenge Date Night

‘Tis the season of gratefulness and giving, right?

Sometimes doing a good deed for others, together, really brings couples together.

Any of these kindness challenges for adults would work.

You could also choose one of these volunteer from-home service projects and stay in.

15. Go to a Boutique Candy Store Together

We’re long past trick-or-treating…but you could infuse some Halloween candy fun into your date nights by meeting up at a boutique candy store.

Imagine how much further your money goes now that you’re an adult!

16. Take a Candy Making Class Together

Making candy can be a pretty involved process, which makes it great for a class.

It’s right on theme for Fall, and makes a great date night together.

17. Doggie Date Picnic at the Park

I’ve got some really fun picnic date ideas, and this one in particular is great for all the dog owners out there.

One or both of you bring your dog on this date. Ahead of time, pick out some cute doggie biscuits, and pack the doggie toys. You could bring a brush, too!

Oh yeah…and don’t forget some snacks for the humans.

Doesn't matter which of these fall date ideas you choose (though I'd love to hear what you guys do…). The main goal is for the two of you to connect as a couple. Make this the season of connection in the moments, days, and weeks that you have with each other. What can be better than that?
