If you have visions of bird flocks and trumpet players in your head – don’t worry.

Doing this doesn’t have to be expensive or elaborate.

And your husband will absolutely look forward to each day to come!

Cheap 12 Days of Christmas Gift Ideas from Dollar Tree

Show your sweetie some extra love this Christmas season with this fun and cheap sequence of gifts from 1 all the way up to 12.

You’ll also want to print out the free printables, cut them out, and lace them with some green-and-white or red-and-white bakers twine from Dollar Tree’s craft section.

Hint: I included a page of blank ones so that you can come up with your own ideas if some of these don’t work for you, or you don't like my cheesy rhymes!

Here’s the list:

Day #1: Sweet Tea for my sweetie

Just pick out a bottle of sweet tea for your sweetie.

Day #2: Two bags of chips to eat

a red and a green bag of chips with ornament tag on dark table

Dollar Tree has tons of snack bag-sized chips, and I wanted to surprise my husband with two flavors I knew he loved (but that we typically don’t keep in the house).

Hint: since you're probably doing some online Christmas shopping anyway…here’s a SWEET deal: download the free Capital One Shopping chrome extension (if you use Chrome) to get coupons and earn cashback. I’ve already earned $68 in rewards, and with my referral, just use it once to save money and you’ll get an extra $80 cash back (so will I, FYI).

Day #3: A sweet pancake stack of three

box of buttermilk pancakes, small teal whisk, and bottle of pancake syrup on dark table

What’s better than waking up to a three-stack of pancakes made for you? Knowing the day before that you’ll get this treat the next morning.

Anticipation is everything!

Day #4: Four snack-sized chocolates (I hit the lottery!)

You can choose a four-pack of Hershey’s chocolates, or a four-pack of Kit-Kats, or whatever four-pack of chocolates you’d like.

Day #5: 4 brookies & 1 bookie

Dollar Tree has both a package of brownie mix and a package of sugar cookie mix (plus rainbow sprinkles).

I decided to bake 4 brookies (because…how could you just have one?!?) by baking the cookie batter on top of the brownie batter, plus choose a military-themed book (the “bookie”) from Dollar Tree’s book section, and packaged them up.

I let my husband know he could bring them (all) to the fire in our living room that night, and we could read together!

Day #6: Roll a 6-sided dice with some choices that are pretty sweet

dry erase dice with handwritten rewards on each side, and ornament shaped tag

There are these blank, dry-erase dice at Dollar Tree (in the teacher/education section). And it’s the perfect chance to offer up 6 different rewards YOUR spouse or boyfriend would absolutely love.

Then, let them roll the dice and collect their prize!

Day #7: 7 jingle bells a-jangling on ribbon bright and dangling

Jingle bells jangling during December is always such a festive sound to hear.

Day #8: Endless video game for the night (with 8 batteries)

8-pack of batteries sitting on top of Xbox remote, wrapped in ornament-shaped tag

My husband loves a good video game, but doesn’t get a lot of playtime (because of, well, adulting!).

I decided to show him he’d get a whole evening of play with a pack of batteries.

Day #9: 9 reasons why I love thee

There are these cups at Dollar Tree where you can remove the piece of paper wrapped around it and write something on the back of them.

So, I decided to write down 9 reasons why I love my husband for the 9th Day of Christmas.

Day #10: 10 pieces of coal – the only coal you can expect on Christmas Eve.

Haha – I love these chocolate pieces of coal, and decided they were perfect to include in my 12 Days of Christmas gifts for my husband.

Day #11: 11 beef jerkys (Ho, Ho, Ho!)

If you saw a woman meticulously counting the number of beef jerkies in packages in Dollar Tree’s meat aisle…then you might’ve seen me and not known it.

I picked out 11 pieces and gifted them for the 11th Day of Christmas.

Day #12: 12 minutes of foot massage using oil with tea tree

I was so pleasantly surprised to find a “clean” tea tree oil at Dollar Tree (I use the Yuka app to scan in bath products, and they give you a score based on the risk level of all of the ingredients. This one actually earned a 100/100!

It’s the perfect oil to use on a foot massage for my husband – for a whole 12 minutes.

I hope I've shown you this cute couple's tradition of gifting 12 Days of Christmas to one another can be done pretty cheaply. Your husband or boyfriend will feel so appreciated and wake up with some anticipation each morning! What a fun thing to do for him.
