(At least I’m honest…).

And these Super Bowl appetizer ideas below are the ones you’re going to find on our coffee table this year.

Personally, I can’t wait – I’ve eaten them either for years already or made them ahead of time and they’re just totally delicious!

Super Bowl Appetizer Ideas

I hope you enjoy these simple and delicious Super Bowl appetizer ideas – three of them are just 3 ingredients!

1. Hot Corn Chile Smothered Pig Blankets

What’s better than the original pig in a blanket?

Smothering it in hot corn chile dip, of course.

Just trust, okay?

Ingredients:

  • 2 tubes of Crescent Rolls
  • Miniature sausages (at least one for each crescent roll)
  • 1 cup corn (frozen is fine)
  • 1 tbsp. butter
  • 1 tbsp. cream cheese
  • 1 tbsp. mayonnaise/miracle whip
  • 1 tbsp. sour cream
  • 1/2 bell pepper, chopped up
  • 2 tbsps. green chiles (chopped)

Instructions:

  • Preheat the oven to 375° F.
  • Melt 1 tbsp. butter in skillet over medium heat.
  • Put 1 cup of corn into the pan in a single layer. Add salt and pepper to taste. Add in the chopped green chiles and bell pepper. Cook until you see brown marks on both sides of the corn.
  • Take off the heat.
  • Add in the cream cheese, mayonnaise/miracle whip, and sour cream.
  • Unroll the crescent rolls and separate them on a sheet pan.
  • Place one miniature sausage on each one.
  • Put 1 spoonful of hot corn chile dip over each sausage.
  • Roll up each crescent roll. Pinch closed the sides so that the insides don’t come falling out (or at least not much!).
  • Bake the rolls for 10 to 13 minutes.

Makes: 16

2. Mom’s Hot Dip

When I was a kid, my Mom excitedly came home one cold winter afternoon and baked this dip recipe for us.

And it’s been a mainstay in our family, ever since! I have no idea where it came from, but I’m happy to pass it on (and we’ll definitely be including it in our Super Bowl celebrations this year).

Ingredients:

  • 1 15-oz. can of no-bean Hormel chili
  • 1 8-oz. bag of shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 8-oz. package of cream cheese

Instructions:

  • Preheat your oven to 375° F.
  • Smash the cream cheese all along the bottom of an 8” X 8” pan (or pie dish) using a spoon.
  • Top that layer with the entire can of chili.
  • Top that layer with the shredded cheese.
  • Bake in the oven at 375° F until fully melted through (about 15 minutes). Serve on top of a potholder, with tortilla chips.

Serves: 5-6

I know there are way more extravagant dips out there. But this is THE DIP, my friends. It's just 3 ingredients and it'll blow your socks off.

  • ½ block of cheese (your choice)
  • ½ cup Milk
  • 1 tbsp. Flour
  • ¼ cup Herdez Salsa Verde Mild

Instructions:

  • Mix in ½ cup milk with 1 tbsp flour, and stir until it thickens.
  • Add in ¼ cup Salsa Verde Mild sauce.
  • Stir in ½ cup cheese until it’s an ooey-gooey delightful mess.
  • Put into a mini slow cooker and set on the lowest setting.
