Hello Frugal Confessions Readers!
Here is my frugal confession of the week:
We’ve been renovating for the last month and one week (photos to come!). For anyone who has renovated in the past, you know this means that the rest of the house goes untouched, gathers dust, the dishes mound, laundry piles build up, and the rest of your life centers around how much spackling, painting, and work you can do. Because of this, food costs can get out of control because who wants to spend time making dinner or packing lunches when you’re all ready exhausted?
In order to cut down on our food costs, we have made meals that would last 3+ nights and that we could also bring with us to lunch the next day. These include turkey sloppy joes, gumbo, and homemade macaroni and cheese. I made some salad dressing and we have used it on a small salad to complete each meal. Beats spending hundreds of dollars on takeout!
