Frugal Confessions – Frugal Living

Hello Frugal Confessions Readers!
Here is my frugal confession of the week:
We were gifted a wonderful Bissell vacuum cleaner about two years ago. Lately, it hasn’t been performing well. I got it out of the closet last week during one of our marathon weekday cleanings, and found no suction in the hose itself.
For the first time ever, I took the manual out and followed the instructions on care and maintenance. Not only did I unblock the clog that was causing this, but I also found a few filters that needed to be cleaned. By doing this, I am sure I extended the life of our vacuum cleaner for many more years to come!
What is your confession of the week? I’d love to hear it!

Congrats, there’s nothing like a vacuum cleaner that’s working! My frugal confession is about my feet. My doctor said to see a podiatrist about my toes acting weird. Instead I started wearing sandals that exercised my toes. My pain went away! These were sandals I already had, but hadn’t been wearing for a while, so the cure was free!

My washing machine had broken and the company shipped out a new one after months of back and forth. During the week my wife said she wanted me to drop the laundry off to be washed and dried because it was too much for such a little machine. I stayed home ALL day and did small loads. 12 in all. I also folded it.

Major points with the Mrs. Jai:). I hope your new washer works great! We just bought a new one and the control board blew…so we were back at the laundromat this week. Fortunately it is still within warranty so they are fixing it for free.

We used the home warranty that came with our house to have our 20-year-old dishwasher repaired. Cost us $60 instead of $350 to get a refurbished one.
