Frugal Confessions – Frugal Living

Hello Frugal Confessions Readers!
Here’s my Confession of the week:
I am a member of Borders Rewards. They send out 40% off coupons often, and once or twice a year a free $5 to spend at their store. This past week, they sent me a free $10 to spend in the store on whatever I would like! Score! I purchased the book “French Women Don’t Get Fat” for only $4.33 after the Borders Bucks.
What is your confession? I’d love to hear it!

I used the $10 from Borders to buy a 2011 day-by-day calender for $3 after the discount.

Way to go! I have been given one of those calendars for the last two years, and what I do is rip off a page and write on the back five things that I am thankful for. Then I put this sheet into a basket to be read one day, or never again.

I decided that I wanted a new scarf (side note: I ADORE scarves and wear them even when I don’t really *need* one; so I was bored with rotating 3 around). So, I went to Michaels on Thanksgiving, bought 3 skeins of bamboo yarn (softest yarn I have felt) that normally cost $4.99 each for under $10 (40% off one item coupon, combined with 25% off my entire purchase) and knit one. I now have a new blue scarf for $10 bucks (they typically go for at LEAST $30 in places like Target or Macy’s).
