Frugal Confessions Fridays – Frugal Living

Hello Frugal Confessions Readers!
Here is my frugal confession of the week:
Ever since my early twenties I have turned to acupuncture for overall health and stress reduction. Acupuncture can be semi-expensive, but the benefits for many people are wonderful.
Fortunately for me, a friend of a friend found a great resource here in Houston: a non-profit health center (St. Theresa’s) that offers acupuncture, among other natural remedies. I have been working with the acupuncturist for a month now, and the sessions only cost $35 each. Typically, you pay $60+ per session. Thank you Helen!
What is your confession of the week? I’d love to hear it.

My grandmother has used acupuncture and found it quite helpful. Congrats on finding a great rate.

My confession…we ate out once this week…and didn’t keep it cheap.
It’s not that big of a deal, but flies in direct contradiction of our goals right now. I’m so afraid of acupuncture even though everyone I know who has used it has given the process great reviews. That’s great that you have a hookup.

We all need to forgive ourselves for little indulgences:). Perhaps you can double up your efforts over the next few weeks and even make up for it?
Just remember with acupuncture that the needles are MUCH smaller than needles used in western medicine. Many points you don’t even feel the needle going in at all!

In a similar vein, Texas School of Massage (Clear Lake) will offer severely discounted appointments for students as part of their curricula. I knew someone who could get me involved, I don’t think it’s offered to the public but you might ask. http://texasschoolofmassage.com/
