Frugal Confessions Friday – Frugal Living

Hello Frugal Confessions Readers!

Here is my frugal confession of the week:

I am apart of JCP Rewards, and periodically I am mailed a $10 off $10 purchase coupon from them (JCPenney, please keep these coming!).

We generally use kitchen towels instead of paper towels, and ours are getting quite grungy. Most of them were given to me at my bridal shower over two years ago!  This last time I used the coupon and a sale to score four high-quality (and cute) kitchen towels for $2.67 in total. Woohoo!

What is your confession of the week? I’d love to hear it!

I forgot to buy new deodorant so I had to use that end part that falls out of the stick. It worked, but I felt weird rubbing this thing in my armpits for the last bits of antiperspirant.

If I had a nickel for every time I’ve subjected my poor husband to that, I could buy him a new deodorant. :)

good deal!!

the day before yesterday Scott noticed one of our neighbors down the street had put out about 4 boxes of books on the curb for trash pick-up, some old, some new, some textbooks. we figured we might as well check to see if any were worth selling so we brought them home and checked half.com. we still have one box to go through but already we’ve posted at least 6 that were selling for $10+!!! fingers crossed they actually sell :)

I am crossing my fingers! That would be a great score.

We’re both sick this week, so we opened a can of chunky chicken soup, added a package of frozen mixed veggies & some canned tuna. Mixed it all together for soup! A bit unusual, but pretty darn good!

Sorry to hear you guys are both sick!! It works out so much better when one is sick before or after the other (for things like dinner, laundry, and life). Unfortunately I’ve managed to get sick THREE times in 2012 all ready, and my husband twice. So I feel you!

Get better soon.

We needed a new kids size picnic table. I went to Lowe’s and bought enough lumber, screws and bolts to make two of them. I’m hoping to sell the second one via Craigslist for the total cost of both of them!

That is a really smart idea. Thank you for sharing! Unfortunately I don’t think I could build my own, but I hope you recoup the costs!
