Frugal Confessions Friday!
Posted on | June 18, 2010 | 8 Comments
Hello Frugal Confessions Readers!
For those of you new to this series, check out the introduction here.
Here is my confession of the week:
My office always has a ton of baby showers (in fact, two new people just found out they are pregnant! Congrats! Must be in the water…). I love to attend and support the parents-to-be. Whenever I find Johnson and Johnson $1 off any body item, or $2 off pamper’s wipes coupons in the Sunday paper, I gather them from all of my known sources and head over to Target to stock up. This week I was able to snag 2 Johnson’s Buddies, and 5 tubs of Pampers Wipes for $1.95 plus tax. Woohoo! These will be great in a basket or gift bag for the next baby shower in the office.
What is your confession of the week? I’d love to hear it!

Nice! I saved on a recent baby shower gift purchase by ordering a discounted babies r us gift card online ahead of time, and then I used a 20% off coupon from the sales flyer, woohoo!

Amanda, My wife and I saved money this week by “re-gifting” a gift card (sshh…don’t tell). We got a Pottery Barn gift card from one of her relatives (which neither of us would ever use) and so we re-gifted it! $50 bucks saved.

You will be so proud!
My husband and I have been looking for a chest feezer for the garage and I found one listed on Craigslist for free 12 miles away yesterday! I even had it delivered for $25!
Why was it so cheap you ask…it’s rusty on the outside, the family is downsizing to an apartment, and they didn’t want to try to sell it since it’s 5 years old but works great. WOOT!
PS It does indeed work and the interior is perfect! I’m going to sand it down and repaint the rusty parts this week.

Budgeting in the Fun Stuff: Great find!!
If I were you, I would use a kill-a-watt to see what kind of electricity consumption the appliance has…just in case it is an electricity vampire (not sure how old it is). But wow–can’t beat free, right? Thank you for sharing.

I do this too!! Same items! Haha. Also have you tried uddercovers.com? Every couple months they have a code to get a free udder cover, meaning you just pay $8.99 s&h. Not the cheapest s&h… but that’s how they make their money. Still it’s a $32.99 value! So giving this as a gift always makes people think you spent more than you did. I usually just hope they didn’t read the blog post I did with the promo code…
