Budgeting in the Fun Stuff: It's all about individual comfort level--and thanks for the luck! I am sure we can find another great deal.

Wow...I would have got the countertops, but that is also why we won't be debt free (except for the mortgage) until this December, lol. Ours was a Tempurpedic mattress and a bedroom furniture set for $6000, but the same general idea.

I really hope a great deal comes along for you after August. :-)

I think what you wrote about was less about luck than recognizing and identifying things as opportunities. I also know how hard it can be to say "no" to a great deal but it seems like it would have derailed your plans a bit. Who knows, that company might call you back the next time they are running a special.

Thanks for letting me drop in on a fellow Yakezie.

I am sorry you aren't getting your granite tops but as you said, there is always another day, another time, and it will come, probably sooner than you think. You are making the WISE choice, maybe not the happiest choice.

I too have been noticing all the coincidences in my life of late. Dave and I were just talking about that the other day.

We got all our bills paid off (after 2 yrs of fighting it hard), the very next month he quit his job. (otherwise we would have had to continue making hefty payments or abandoned the idea of getting out of debt so quickly).

We needed another business to start and one literally fell into our laps.

We shared cash with some needy individuals and a long lost relative came into our lives to pay off a past due (16yrs) debt.

And the list goes on and on. I wonder if i too should have been seeing the coincidences a long time ago but was so wrapped up in the day to day living that it passed right by me....
