Article Round-Up

Hello Frugal Confessions Readers! Here are a few articles I’d like to share from this last week.
Are you in the market for a new or used car, a mattress, or anything large? Check out this article on how to negotiate between sellers and dealers to get the best price.
Have you ever been unsure of how much to tip? I have, probably because I do not find myself in tipping situations very often. I will get a pedicure done maybe twice a year, and eat out every now and again, but that’s about it. When we eat out, occasionally get pedicures, I give 15-20%. We had to take a taxi the other night (article forthcoming!), and I tipped 20%. This article discusses the tipping norm for all kinds of services. What are your norms?
There are two airplanes where you can get free checked bags now: Southwest, and Delta (but the caveat is you need to open up their credit card to do so). Here’s some info on the Delta credit card: http://www.mydollarplan.com/bags-fly-free-on-delta/
If you are trying to decide for yourself whether it makes sense to rent or to own a home (financially speaking), check out this article—it’s got some helpful links.
Also, have you checked out your Swagbucks page yet? Add your birthdate to it, and on your birthday you will receive 50 free swagbucks!

Continental also allows for 1st checked bag free if you bought your ticket with your Continental branded Chase debit or credit card. This has been ongoing for at least the past year, if not since the beginning of the checked bag fees. Although, I’ve already earned silver elite status again thru Feb 2012, so I’m not too worried about checked bag fees right now.

I was just googling around about this when I found your post. I’m simply stopping by to say that I definitely enjoyed reading this post, it’s really clear and well written. Are you going to post more on this? It looks like there’s more depth here for future posts.
